You always meet twice in life

That is a typical German phrase which we all know doesn’t always come true – especially as a freelancer. That’s what I thought until the end of March 2024, when I received a project enquiry from my trusted provider, a research-based agricultural company in southern Lower Saxony.

It was immediately clear to me: this could only be KWS and I was immediately hooked!

Why?
I had already worked for KWS on an interim basis in 2018 and I got to know KWS as a super interesting, international and diverse company. Even back then, it was an interim assignment to my liking: exciting HR challenges in an appreciative and international environment.

I wanted to work for KWS again!

Today marks the end of my first week and I would like to thank all my colleagues at KWS for their warm welcome

It was immediately clear to me: this could only be KWS* and I was immediately hooked!

What does a freelancer actually do between big projects?

After my last assignment, I took a winter break and recharged my batteries.

Now it’s time to arrive furhter at my new and old adopted home. It’s only two years ago that I moved to the neighbourhood of Kiel and thus back to the north. In the last two years, I’ve been on longer project assignments in Duesseldorf and Hamburg. Now I can take the time to reactivate and expand my network. It’s particularly nice to be able to arrange face-to-face meetings again after the pandemic and to be able to attend events and training courses in person again. For example, on Tuesday evening, 20.02.2024 at the invitation of the #WirtschaftsakademieSchleswigHolstein and the #LuebeckerNachrichten for HR networking in the Alte Schweißerei of the #WirtschaftsakademieSchleswigHolstein.

Speaking of training: I’m also using the time to polish up my French with a weekly French course at the #Institut Français in Kiel.

Of course, there are also the clients and assignments that not only take place between the big interim projects, but also make my personal interim bouquet particularly colourful 💐.

At the moment, I have the opportunity to support the integration process of a former community practice into a large so-called medical centre in my old home town.

What I fear the most

“Mottchen*, what I fear most is that the new right-wingers will become a majority again.”

My mother voiced her fears back in the early 1990s. She fled Koenigsberg with her parents because of the Red Army when she was 7 years old. She and her father suffered physically and emotionally all their lives as a result of their experiences of flight and expulsion.

My father migrated to Germany from Jalandhar, India in 1957, hoping to realise many of his dreams here.

At that time, my parents were a couple who faced a lot of racist hostility, including from their own families.

When my mum told me her fears, I thought that it wouldn’t happen again. Ever since Trump was able to become American president, I have feared that my mum’s fears and both my parents’ experiences could become reality.

I am glad that my parents did not have to experience the Russian war of aggression on Ukraine or the rise of the AfD (the German far right).

Against this background, it is important to me to fly the flag against the right and in favour of peace and diversity.

*you can roughly translate this nickname with “my little butterfly”.

❄️See you again after our winter break⛄️

Thank you very much for the interesting encounters, for the professional 🎓 and personal ❤️ learning opportunities, for the laughter and being silly 💃🏻, for the empathy and encouragement 💕, for the patience and for being there!

We wish you all a relaxing, peaceful holiday 🎄 and a powerful 💪🏼 start to 2024!

On the occasion of the world women’s day

Grafito in Salta, Argentina Source: private

On 8 March 2022, I am reflective. For many years, I have been intensively involved with the issue of equal rights/equality for women all over the world. Yes, it is true: in the last decades, a lot has been moved worldwide by countless, courageous women of all ages. However, I am still struck by the fact that it is still an enormous effort and a great risk for millions of women worldwide to stand up for their existential rights or to claim them.

I have the greatest respect for these women and I thank them for their courageous and tireless efforts!

Change is constant

Dear friends, customers, partners and interested parties of sunitamitterKommunikationskonzepte-,

the past 2 years have been a time of partly fundamental changes for all of us.

Rheingauer Economic Forum 2016

Economy creates society!

This was the motto of the Rheingau Business Forum in June 2016. Since 2011, this small but very fine business forum has been organised and run by Ms Dagmar Döring. This economic forum aims to look beyond the boundaries of the economy. Dagmar Döring and her organisational team succeed in doing this every year with renowned speakers and discussion panels!

Each economic forum is followed by a bundled edition of the contributions. I am very pleased to give you an insight into my book contribution today and to provide you with the link to the recordings.

Enjoy listing in!
